Biochemistry is the study of the structure, composition, and chemical reactions of substances in living systems. It deals with how living things obtain energy from food, the chemical basis of heredity, and what fundamental changes occur in disease. Biochemistry includes the sciences of molecular biology; immunochemistry; neurochemistry; and bioinorganic, bioorganic, biophysical chemistry and many other. The program of Bio-Chemistry is committed to the personal growth of undergraduate students through the development of new scientific knowledge, critical thinking, problem–solving strategies, active learning, self realization and participation in research discoveries in the field of Biochemistry and Biochemical processes.
Degree requirement for this program are:
- F.Sc.(Pre-Medical) or equivalent with at least 45% marks.
The graduates in Bio-Chemistry develop research and applied skills that have broad applications within a variety of industries. The degree in biochemistry also trains students for a wide variety of careers such as in Toxicology, Academics, Government Careers, Forensic Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Health Professions.
