Pharmacy is a science-based health profession concerned with the science of medicines and their use in the treatment and prevention of disease. It encompasses aspects related to medicine discovery, development, production, distribution, dispensing, testing, and research, etc. While linking the health sciences with the chemical sciences it is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines. Pharmacists are highly trained and skilled healthcare professionals who perform various roles to ensure optimal health outcomes for the patients.
Degree requirements for this program are:
- 60% marks/1st Division in FSc (Pre-Medical) or 60% marks/1st Division in BSc (Pre-Medical). Admissions will be considered on the basis of 80% marks of FSc/BSc and 20% score of NAT conducted by NTS.
The main aim of the Department of Pharmacy is to equip students with contemporary knowledge and education through meticulous class work, practical work in laboratories and apprenticeship training. The course curriculum includes plant collection tours and industrial tours to increase the knowledge of the students in the areas of natural pharmaceutical compounds and production and quality control of pharmaceutical and allied products. The department is working in close collaboration with Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur and other Departments of the University.
