The radiologic technologist, also known as a radiographer, is a health care professional who administers ionizing radiation (x-rays) to produce anatomic images for diagnostic, therapeutic and research purposes. The images may be recorded photographically or digitally and are interpreted by a licensed practitioner such as a radiologist (specialized physician) in the diagnosis and treatment of injury, anomalies and disease.
