Civil Technology is a discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. The four-year curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering enables the graduate to enter professional practice as an engineer or to continue his or her studies in programs leading to advanced degrees.
Degree requirements for this program are:
- FSc (Pre-Engineering/Computer Science), or A Levels in relevant subjects, DAE in Electronics/Electrical, or equivalent, with minimum 45% marks.
The applications of Civil technology are the broadest and the most visible among all other branches of engineering. The major specialisations within civil engineering are structural, water resources, environmental, construction, transportation, geo-technical engineering etc. The credit for all those mighty power plants, dams, airports, seaports, highways, inland waterways and industrial plants goes to Civil Engineers. Roles are available in both engineering organizations and other industries. Civil engineering graduates are also valued in commercial and corporate sectors such as finance, banking and accountancy. Your degree would be of great value in operational management, supply chain management, procurement, intellectual property, logistics and after-sales management.
