Agronomy is the science and technology of producing and using plants for food, fuel, fiber, and reclamation. Agronomy encompasses work in the areas of plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil science and finds its application due to a combination of sciences like biology, chemistry, economics, ecology, earth science, and genetics.
Degree requirements for this program are:
- Candidates must have passed MA/MSc/Pharm D/BS (4-years) or equivalent (16-years of education) in the relevant field, or have an equivalent degree from HEC recognized institution with at least second division or cGPA 2.0/4.0.
A career in Agronomy gives experience in seed production, crop nutrition, conservation and environmental stewardship. Jobs can be of an Agronomist, in the field of Botany and Crop Breeding, Genetics, Horticulture, Soil and Environmental Sciences, and more.
