Crop physiology is the investigation of the plant processes driving growth, development, and economic production by crop plants. The degree will teach students about crop and seed physiology, stress physiology, courses about cash crops, and different conditions that affect crop growth.
Degree requirements for this program are:
- BSc (Hons) Agriculture/BSc (Hons) Agriculture with major in the relevant field of study (deficiency courses will be given where necessary), with minimum 45% marks or 2.5/4.0 CGPA, and having Punjab Domicile.
Most crop physiology research is conducted in the field or in near-field environments of greenhouses or growth chambers. Research in crop physiology has had major impacts on agricultural practices and our knowledge of life as we know it. After completing this degree you will be able to take up the position of a researcher in a scientific research institute (like PCSIR, NIAB, NIBGE, Punjab Seed Corporation, Agriculture and Horticulture). Various Public & Private sector educational institutes also offer teaching and research posts for such graduates.
