The Bachelors program is designed on a scholarly level, and develops in students a measure of undergraduate foundation within the discipline of English Literary studies. The program introduces students to a scholarly activity in order to provide an avenue towards specialization for those who eventually wish to seek a Masters Degree or literary scholarship. To meet these goals, the program develops strong analytical skills and foundation in diverse critical and theoretical approaches. The curriculum of this program has been prepared in a manner which may enable the students to branch out in areas as diverse as law, publishing, editing, journalism, administration, management, communication, or teaching.
Degree requirements for this program are:
- Intermediate or equivalent
After completing the program, students would be able to establish broad and multiple perspectives in relation to the society and the world at large; to understand the responsibilities of living in a culturally and ethnically diversified world; to develop enhanced parameters of understanding within which to read, write, and discuss literature and linguistics; to learn the cultural and historical evolution of the English literature; and develop skills in writing, critical thinking, verbal communication, research, and in analyzing and synthesizing texts and data.
