The program in Film and Television is both academic and professional. Graduate students are expected to examine, probe and study the history and literature of film culture, its role in the communication process, its creative and technical development, its organization, its economic impact and development, and its aesthetic, social, and cultural developments and implications.
Degree requirements for this program are:
- Applicants should have minimum 60% score in Higher Secondary School Certificate (Pre-Engineering or a combination of Physics/Mathematics/Computer science subjects) or equivalent from a recognized Institute/Board.
In the current scenario where the local media has grown rapidly in a short span of time and there is an acute shortage of qualified media professionals, the significance of this program has increased manifold. After completing their coursework, the students can be hired by radio stations, TV channels, production houses, newspapers and magazines.
